Job Description

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintains operation of assigned area within the Operating Plan budget and manpower, meeting production schedules and quality standards.

  • Ensures safety procedures are adhered to and hazards eliminated.

  • Supervises and coaches assigned manufacturing employees.

  • Monitors manpower within work area.

  • Communicates daily to management and customer base.

  • Assigns tasks to individuals working within work area.

  • Enables assigned team members to meet responsibilities for continuous quality and production improvements, preventive maintenance, customer service, safety, housekeeping, controllable cost planning, methods and equipment utilization.

  • Seeks ways to improve operations, cost effectiveness and product quality to meet, or exceed, customer satisfaction.

  • Assists work team in securing appropriate resources to meet or exceeds its goals.

  • Communicates the production schedule.

  • Works with engineering on special projects as needed for assigned area.

  • Communicates Quality alerts as appropriate.

  • Maintains production within work area by observing employees and assisting when necessary.

  • Maintains inventory records within work area.

  • Understands and generates plans for manpower and associated budgets.

  • Works with support groups to ensure work area success.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Two plus years manufacturing experience preferred. Six Sigma Green Belt status preferred.

  • Additional Skills, Knowledge or Abilities (non-physical):

  • Verbal and written communication skills

  • Physical stamina to work overtime hours consecutively

  • Physical strength to lift and maneuver heavy parts

  • Physical agility to reach

  • Hearing proficiency
