Engineer Intern / Co-OP
Position Summary:The Engineer Analyst intern / co-op is
responsible for supporting ZF Marine Miramar’s R&D on electronic controls
development and testing, new transmission development, ADAS applications for
marine, and developing technical and business proposals for future innovation
- Assist with the design, specifications,
budgeting and execution of various projects
- Conduct analytical, environmental,
operational, or performance studies in order to develop designs for
products, such as marine engines, equipment, and structures.
- Evaluate operation of marine equipment
during acceptance testing and shakedown cruises.
- Analyze data in order to determine
feasibility of product proposals.
- Confer with research personnel in order to
clarify or resolve problems, and to develop or modify designs.
- Investigate and observe tests on machinery
and equipment for compliance with standards.
- Conduct environmental, operational or
performance tests on marine machinery and equipment.
- Determine conditions under which tests are
to be conducted, as well as sequences and phases of test operations.
- Prepare product or system layouts and
detailed drawings and schematics.
- Maintain records of engineering department
activities, including expense records and details of equipment
maintenance and repairs.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Experience:
- Strong desire
to learn with a professional drive
- Read and
analyze technical and complex documents and plans
- Proficient in
MS Office and computer-based design programs
verbal and written communication
- Ability to work
in industrial setting which includes walking, bending and wearing
appropriate safety gear
- Current enrollment in a
related BS or Master’s degree
- Minimum GPA 3.0 – please

- Knowledge of
Integrate Product Team (IPT) operations
- German and/or
Spanish language skills
