Job Description:

Located in Farmington Hills, Michigan, this Paralegal will be responsible for providing support to ZF’s Electronics and Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) Division. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience as a Paralegal, particularly in the automotive or similar business sector with knowledge of US commercial, contract, real estate, corporate and other general US laws. This Paralegal will also provide light secretarial support.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support ZF, ZF Legal Department, and Electronics and ADAS Initiatives

  • Support Direct and Indirect Purchasing matters including contracts, terms and conditions, consignment, etc.

  • Support Engineering inquiries and projects

  • Coordinate NDAs and maintain databases

  • Perform fact and legal research in support of commercial and other litigation

  • Work with the business to gather and review documents for current and potential claims

  • Assist with support to Finance and Business Development, including M&A, Real Estate transactions, divestitures, other

  • Assist with support to other functions

  • Secretarial support

  • Travel may be required

Minimum Qualifications Desired:

  • Experience in performing research in legal databases

  • Experience in handling highly confidential matters

  • Ability to spot legal issues and communicate them to in-house counsel

  • Strong analytic skills, writing skills and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work well in a collaborative environment

  • Ability to work well under pressure

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to adhere to strict time deadlines

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Exceptional organizational skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products, Outlook and document management software

  • Bachelor's Degree and successful completion of an ABA approved program or successful completion of the certified legal assistant examination
