The Daimler regional Sales Manager– NA, manages the business within the region and closely liaises with the global product line responsible GKAM’s / KAM’s of the ZF Global Daimler Sales team. The regional Sales Manager has responsibility for the oversight/management of the customer within the region.
The Sales Manager (NA) is accountable to the GKAM’s / KAM’s of the subsequent product lines within the KAE organization.
His responsibilities include but are not limited to managing both, company and customer satisfaction in the areas of product, price, quality, service, and technology.
Develop excellent customer relationship to identify and lead strategic initiatives that complement the customer strategic planning and future needs.
Support development of customer strategy with robust planning towards success (battle plan).
Understanding market pricing and competitive environment.
Supports and coordinates customer technology showcases and visits to ZF regional plants and technical offices
Leads/facilitates customer communications internal & external
Supports input and update of sales forecast and long range planning.
Communicates frequently with engineering, sales, cost estimators, customers, and managers to ensure current status relative to pricing, design, program issues, part issues, contract terms and conditions, and all other customer issues
Ensure all engineering changes made to products are correctly priced and submitted to the customer on a timely basis
Manage cost change (material, forex, follow-up on past due receivables) to ensure profitability goals being met.
Maintain customer contact lists
Identify new business opportunities, obtain RFQ’s, lead RFQ process, deliver RFQ response, follow-up with customers, and communicate status of new opportunity within ZF
Essential Skills and Experience:
Minimum of seven years work experience in the automotive industry with extensive sales/marketing experience
Track record of success within complex, globally operating companies.
Entrepreneur type attitude and self-starter with strong leadership skills
Culturally sensitive and aware
Effective project manager “pusher” knows organization well to get things done
Good communication/negotiation skills.
Fluent in local country language (English), German knowledge would be helpful Preferred Skills and Education to diploma / degree level, preferably in engineering and economics
International travel required.
