Job Description

Within the Product Engineering - Braking Business Unit, Foundation Brakes Department, Brake Development Group.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Friction material product development, develop and validate of foundation brake friction material, and develop best methods to characterize friction materials

  • Monitor HS&E and legal requirements for friction materials, benchmarking and cataloguing of friction materials, validation of accessory components such as shims, chamfers, clips, etc.

  • Application project support, root cause and problem solving, drive supplier development process

  • Maintain statement of requirements for friction materials, pre-selection of friction materials

  • Supports vehicle demonstrations, prototype builds and interface with customer / supplier to develop and launch foundation brake products

  • Coordinates with internal departments to develop braking products concurrently that meet cost, reliability and manufacturing objectives

  • Maintains appropriate engineering procedures throughout the product development process including problem solving and achieving engineering deliverables

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering

  • At least 3 years of mechanical engineering experience preferredcb
