Within the Product Engineering - Braking Business Unit, Foundation Brakes Department, Brake Development Group.
Friction material product development, develop and validate of foundation brake friction material, and develop best methods to characterize friction materials
Monitor HS&E and legal requirements for friction materials, benchmarking and cataloguing of friction materials, validation of accessory components such as shims, chamfers, clips, etc.
Application project support, root cause and problem solving, drive supplier development process
Maintain statement of requirements for friction materials, pre-selection of friction materials
Supports vehicle demonstrations, prototype builds and interface with customer / supplier to develop and launch foundation brake products
Coordinates with internal departments to develop braking products concurrently that meet cost, reliability and manufacturing objectives
Maintains appropriate engineering procedures throughout the product development process including problem solving and achieving engineering deliverables
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
At least 3 years of mechanical engineering experience preferredcb
