This opening is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to learn and grow their skills in this highly automated facility. Our plant is clean, climate controlled and high tech. The selected individual will support the afternoon shift in assembly. Shift hours are from 3:00 - 11:30 pm.
The Fowlerville plant manufactures vehicle stability control systems and related components.
This position will be responsible for a variety of quality-related tasks including:
Insure quality processes are followed
Teardown daily scrap parts reporting root cause
Teardown quality return parts and determine root cause
Provide direct feedback to customers and managers on returned product
Maintain teardown lab
Reporting and analysis of scrap and teardown data
Trouble shooting against In-process defects and assist in sorting for quality defects
Disposition of in-process defects including teardown analysis and trending
Maintain Teardown database and report out to management.
Updating and creating check sheets
Completion of reports for the Corrective Action process (including customer requirements, FIRP requirements, etc)
Take the lead in process improvements
Take initiative on corrective actions and scrap reduction
Support the needs of production in all manner.
Work with suppliers as needed to supply pictures and reports showing teardown parts for their product.
Other job duties as defined by either the Quality Manager or the Area Manager for the assigned production area(s)
Required Education and Experience
High School diploma
Associates Degree or Bachelors Degree in Technical Field preferred; if no degree, must be willing to enroll in and successfully complete required college courses
Experience and Skill Requirements
Three years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with two years in the Quality field
Must be able to demonstrate advanced ability’s using machines. (Lathes, Drills press, etc)
Understanding of TS16949 requirements and ISO14001 requirements
Willingness and ability to work flexible shifts and overtime as needed
Position may rotate shifts/dept as needed for training / coverage.
Must be able to travel overnight for training and to resolve customer/supplier issues
Demonstrated history of successful interactions with employees, vendors, tours, etc.
Prefer previous quality experience.
Strong written / verbal communication skills.
Must possess advanced computer skills. (Microsoft, Excel, Word)
Six Sigma training a plus.
