The Quality Engineer will mainly support Nissan quality globally from GE headquarter Farmington Hills, and interface with engineering, program management, SDE to provide strong quality support to local customer quality team for problem solving and quality improvement. Support new product development by APQP establishment, monitor the DV/PV performance and safe launch activity to make sure successful launch. Identify the quality improvement opportunity by collecting and reviewing quality performance report and lessons learned to support the QIP activity as GE Quality function.
Responsible for Nissan quality support globally from GE headquarter and provide solutions to local customer quality team and plants for problem solving.
Interface with engineering team and program management team for any type of design quality tasks including FMEA review, DV/PV review, gate review to ensure the development quality is well developed.
Establish the safe launch initiatives as required to ensure successful product launch in ZF GE plants and customer sides.
Managing APQP deliverables from A3 to A8, setup the required Q-plan documentation and coordinate with cross-function-team to realize the quality plan.
Lead and support quality investigations as needed and interface with customers and/or suppliers as required
Build positive relationships with both external and internal Engineering teams to enhance the communication in between quality and engineering.
Solve various problems as an extension of the Plant teams as well as Divisional Quality
Monitor engineering A-SPICE progress and ensure software quality is well developed and validated.
Support quality improvement plans to drive improvements with customers as well as ZF GE plants globally.
Evaluate customer quality metrics and QIP report to identify continuous improvement opportunities
Support PPAC issue on root cause investigation and countermeasure implementation.
Review all lessons learned cases related to GE product and feedback to engineering, SDE/SQA and manufacturing plants for future prevention,
Establish and maintain quality system procedures and work instructions to support an effective quality system
Carry out customer satisfaction visitations, warranty reviews and resolve customer quality issues.
Support the product warranty system ensuring feedback reaches responsible groups in the businesses and assures ownership and permanent corrective action to support the delivery of quality products that enhance customer satisfaction.
Monitor and investigate new inspection methods and test equipment.
Co-ordinate the completion of 8D corrective and preventive action responses.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or above of electronic engineering is preferred.
Fluent Japanese / English / Chinese communication skills.
Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
Results, customer and change orientation.
Project management expertise required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills; willing to travel on short notice.
Knowledge of basic metrology, standard inspection methods, blue print reading, SQCN system, basic safety requirements, computer applications, TS requirements, APQP, SPC techniques, customer requirements.
Technical report writing skills - quality procedures, inspection instructions & result logs, PPM report.

Preferred Skills and Experience:
Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred
Supervisory experience preferred, but not necessary.
