Commodity Buyer for Non-Production Material Engineering Services for North America.
Primary support office in Farmington, Livonia, Northville and Washington, MI.
Support the team and related functions within Engineering in all NPM related Purchasing activities.
Reporting to global NPM Engineering Services Commodity Manager with onsite leadership provided within the office in Farmington.
Collaborate with Engineering team on identifying new and/or existing suppliers for opportunities or sourcing requirements that occur.
Ensure all applicable group directives and guidelines are followed and any required exceptions are escalated to the proper level or individuals.
Develop bid list and hand Request for Proposals (RfP) activities working with their international sub commodity counterparts.
Work with the international sub commodity counterparts to develop a negotiation strategy and finalization of sourcing recommendations.
Work with counterparts and/or legal if required to secure proper agreements which are in place for pricing, licensing agreements, scope of work and any other applicable terms and conditions.
Oversees ongoing maintenance of contracts through a formalized, structured process.
Drive for Cost Savings both EBIT and NON-EBIT, improving overall Payment Terms, Driving Spend with Strategic Suppliers and other KPIs (Key Performance Indicator) which might apply under the Global NPM organization.
Maintain all applicable records, documents, SharePoint, databases etc. to ensure an organized and properly documented process.
Travel as needed domestic and international 10 to 15%.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Strong technical and commercial knowledge (electronics and software preferred) with analytical skills and a high level of self motivation.
