Job Description:

This position is within the ZF Global Electronics ADAS camera core/platform development team. You will be responsible for leading all engineering discipline and development activities related to remote camera sensors supporting up to 360° surround view vision around the vehicle. This product does not contain software; therefore the development team will consist of matrixed resources from the Electrical, Mechanical, Optics, System and Functional Safety engineering disciplines. This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in a technical management career path.   • Technical schedule development planning and adherence to plan from Concept through design validation.

  • Ensure the technical development adheres to the generic C40 development process and milestone gate reviews.

  • Support manager in defining annual budget and forecast report out to executive management.

  • Primary technical project interface and single point of contact internally for all Engineering development status updates to management.

  • Lead and resolve internal cross functional technical challenges to ensure alignment with development milestones and avoidance of further management escalation.

  • Provide technical guidance to the team as necessary for problem resolution, to ensure correct actions are being taken in a timely manner.

  • Support Sales and Application Engineering teams during new business acquisition activities.

  • Since this is a core/platform development, success will be measured by the team’s ability to (1) meet cost targets, (2) maximize the re-use of core design amongst the customer applications, (3) miniaturization (4) adherence to development budget and timing milestones, (5) manufacturability (DFM), and (6) attaining product performance targets.

  • Develop and maintain a product performance and sales presentation packet.


  • BS in an Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, System). Others considered with relevant experience.

  • Automotive camera/optics and tier 1 supplier technical development experience is a plus

  • Highly organized, excellent verbal communication skills with a demonstrated history of attention to details.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, with demonstrated history of resolving complex technical issues.

  • Ideal candidate will have cross functional experience with electrical, mechanical and system engineering disciplines as this product is electro-mechanical in nature.

Experience and Skill Requirements:

  • 8 + years in a technical development position. Preferably in the automotive industry.
